Toby
4 days: “We still have him in his safe space and interact with him everyday, but overall he seems very comfortable. We have been monitoring him all the time and yes, he has used the litter tray and no issues regarding that. We have decided to keep his original name ‘Toby’ as it suits him quite well and my family seems to like it very much.” He seems a lot more energetic recently and they’ve let him roam around a bit to let him slowly get used to his environment, making sure they don’t push him too much. “he seems to be feeling relaxed!”
1.5 weeks: “He is doing great! He enjoys our company and has gotten a lot more confident walking around the house”. He went to the vet last week and got some medication. His gums are much better and his mucus seems to have disappeared. Since the first time he was introduced to his home, he has gotten a lot more comfortable and cheeky. “He is a very energetic boy during play time and he eats well, too. We are so happy we were able to welcome this little bean to our family. Everyone seems to dote on him very much!”
6.5 weeks: “He is doing great!” Unfortunately, his gum inflammation is still causing Toby discomfort. This is from his lack of antibody production, leading to a recommendation for a possible full tooth extraction as a worst-case scenario. Despite two weeks of inflammation and antibacterial medication, his condition initially improved but worsened after treatment ended. A senior vet at Willoughby Veterinary Hospital assessed his gums and mentioned it’s the worst case she’s ever seen. FIV and FeLV testing were both negative. He is now being referred to a dental specialist for a further checkup and recommendations.
Mr Jones, now Georgie Porgi
2 days: Mr Jones has had diarrhoea and isn’t eating much. They will try giving him Royal Canin kitten dry food and wet food and keep him in his safe room until he is toileting in his litter box. The kids have renamed him “Georgie Porgie”
2 weeks: no response
2 months: “Georgie has settled in wonderfully. He is such a lovely natured boy, we love him very much”
