106

I was curious and counted the cats in the cattery this afternoon. One hundred and six cats and kittens.

The most recent two are doing well. Cordelia is getting up to eat so I got a good photo of them.

Cordelia's two, at two days old

Bree's three were on display as well. She keeps well to the rear and spits.

I tried to take a good photo of Le Clerc because the one on the Safe Haven website is very blurred. Mine were all as bad. That cat doesn't like to stand still. We let him out for a wander and a vollie took lots of photos with her phone. I hope she can send them to Irene to upload. He had a lovely play with the bobbles on a stick.

Gracie was out today. . . not out of her condo but off her sleeping shelf. It is a long time since her kittens were adopted. It would be good if she started to accept chin rubs as Shadow is doing in Incoming.

Likewise, Ezra in Isolation, of the fluffy feet. He still spits.

I carried Casper from Isolation to Wolfie's stand alone. No problem. He enjoyed it as much as I did. It didn't take him long to settle down. He will be on the "available" list as soon as he has been vaccinated.

Peaches and four of her kittens are back from the vet. She is in the stand alone in Isolation. She and the kittens have had two lots of medicine for their intestinal parasites. The littlest ones aren't eating well but Peaches is back to feeding them and she is eating well. Throw away any poo'y towels. We have plenty of towels. And no spare bags of washing today!

Don't know why nobody has snaffled Zoe and Maddy. They came in together but don't really seem to get on well. (Perhaps a clash of two dominant females). They enjoyed time in the top cat.

Booties back

The room off the kitchen is a quarantine zone. Anybody who goes in there must wear booties and toss them in the bucket at the door as they leave to stop tracking ringworm throughout the cattery. Davo didn't get adopted. He got ringworm and is back in incoming. Mickey is where Davo was.

Mickey
He looks much happier having a view of everything. (I didn't try to feed him so don't know if he is still desperate for food).

Ezra and his mum Lyra have moved from Incoming to where Tiger was. Ezra was adopted this afternoon. Somehow their condo was opened and Lyra moved out before the adopters arrived and into one of the hidey holes in the tall Top Cat scratchie. I was in the process of trying to tempt her back into the condo when they arrived. She is still there and the Top Cats surrounds her hideout.

Next door, where Maxwell was are Jack and Luna. They are shy.

Jack or Luna
Virgo only has one kitten left, Scorpio. The other two were adopted over the weekend. I caught him suckling her this afternoon. No wonder she looks fed up.
Virgo and Scorpio
Princess got adopted and Maria doesn't look too upset.

Vicky and I tried to work out the difference between the kittens who are in the play place. They were in Incoming. Two of them are almost identical. They are both stunning tabbies with white feet and tummies. The other doesn't have white feet. She is Citrine. One of the white pawed ones has darker markings that the other. She is Amber and the other is Copper. Or vise versa. They are all delightful and one even likes her tummy being tickled.

Wretched man

Didn't come back to adopt Ollie! His loss, of course. Somebody else's gain, eventually. The man who adopted Patchy's PJ and Primrose returned our carrier. When he adopted them he brought a brand new, cloth type carrier and they absolutely freaked out. There was NO WAY they were going to go into that carrier. Makes you wonder what happened to them before they arrived at Safe Haven. They have settled down beautifully with the man and his family. He bought a scratchy pole for them and we gave them two of the free, cardboard house thingies. He said that his wife is keen to get another cat, already!
A young woman arrived with a large amount of almost/just expired kitten food. She has intriguing tattoos and studs in amazing places BUT the kittens let her trim their nails. Even Mini/RubyG let her cuddle her and trim those ferocious nails. All were accomodating except Mini/RubyG's hissy kitten. S/he would not be mauled. S/he escaped and ran in circles until we corraled him/her back into Mum's condo. Because of more food, I was appointed the arranger of the food. On the top shelf: the adult food is on the left, the big kittens in the middle and the 2-4 month kittens food is on the right. On the next shelf is the Baby cat (never enough) and the surplus special diet food. How long will that organisation last? Perhaps until next Wednesday. I took a Xmas photo for next year's calendar:
Cute enough? There have been movements. Dobby and Dolly are in the condo bank between the desk and the front door. Dolly does not look pleased.
Elona, Elliot and Ezra (with a white spot on his nose) have been moved to the main floor. The kittens had a fabulous time in the play place this afternoon. They should be adopted this weekend. If the Northern Beaches are shut down, there will be a rush for our kittens and cats!
And the wild mum plus 1 have moved out of boarding so that the boarders can fit. Need space for Sultan the Magnificant.
