Adoption Tails: Suki Sioux, Shawna and Louie

 Suki Souix

1 week: Suki has settled in very quickly and has won their hearts. She was in her safe room for one day before taking over the rest of the house. They say that she has only sounded like a Siamese once.

 1 month: Suki was peeing quite frequently out of her litter box. They had taken her to Allambie vet who had suggested various things. Suki is kept in her safe room overnight. It seems progress is being made & she is settling down somewhat. They are trying all sorts of strategies to help her and love her.

 

Shawna

1 day: Shawna is doing really well. Eating really well, drinking and has toileted.

 

1 week: She's very happy. "She crawled in under this blanket... too cute!" Everything else is going really well. It's love for the owners and Shawna.

 

No 1 month response

Louie now Floquinho

1 day: Louie is now called Floquinho ("little snowflake" in Portuguese). He has adapted very well and already seems to feel like he owns the place. He loves his new toys but what he really enjoys most is being with the owners. He's always playing, cuddling and loves to lay on their laps. Floquinho is receiving a lot of love and attention and has already had some visitors who absolutely adored him. He got along very well with everyone. He still has the habit of playfully biting but the owners are teaching him to stop it. He is doing great!

 1 week: He's doing very well and has quickly adapted to both owners and his new home. He's having a lot of fun, plays a lot and gets plenty of affection. They're taking good care of him and he's already part of the family. "We're really enjoying having him with us!"

 

 1 month: Floquinho is settled at home. He's getting better with scratching due to some crusty bumps. The owners and the vet are taking good care of him.

 

 

More food

 What a good thing I put away (ie moved out of the passageway) the bags of food that cluttered Better Row on Wednesday. Because today a nice man arrived with trolley loads of boxes of Fancy Feast! His cat declined to eat it. A pallet full must be cheaper than a box at a time from Woolies. Shortly thereafter I observed Geoff's grooming technique on Tommy. Tommy loves Geoff's technique. That pile of fluff in the foreground is all the snarly bits from behind his ears and down his spine.

 Geoff wanted to reward Tommy by letting him play in the Top Cat tonight. Which means that he had to offer to move the piles of boxes of Fancy Feast. He may still be there moving them out of Tommy's play place way. Tim in is tomorrow to restore all to normal. Shawna will enjoy observing what is going on from her corner condo.

Shawna

Talking of "normal." The linen shelves are abnormally full of towels. We have been declining donations of sheets, pillowcases, cat beds, etc, etc. Finally the message has been heard and we are full of towels. (Notice the empty spot where the blankets used to be. They are in the community bin).

 

Sooty had her first go in the Top Cat after Sparkie had a happy time there (with Sooty watching and, hopefully, learning). It took a while. And Charlie below was (?) encouraging.

A lady came to find a cat to go with her two boy cats who are having dominance issues. She also has 2 kids and a husband who doesn't like cats. She chose Moonlight 1. because she is a girl and will take over command of the felines of her house and 2. because Moonlight is a tuxedo and she has always lusted after a tuxedo cat. Could have picked Sooty. Or Jody. Or Riley who behaved charmingly (while Miz explored by ducking out of doors that got opened and explored elsewhere). So much choice.

Finally

 How long have we been at East Roseville? How long have I arrived at 7am on Wednesdays to see wet footprints wandering away down the corridor from the Shower? Well! Today I saw the towel clad bloke who owns the footprints. He didn't see me.

And, the unregistered car parked in the loading zone has disappeared. As has the boat in the basement. Changes afoot in Barcoo Street.

And Moet and Jerry have moved from their condo in the corner where Seb and Pebbles used to be. Somehow the patched mesh has failed. They have moved to the play place where they can display their superior foot tripping technique.

Josie is much more friendly than she was when she arrived and gave birth.

I opened Charlie and Champs condo at the same time as opening Miz and Riley's. It didn't take long for Charlie to go for a wander and for Miz and Riley to move in with Champ. Anybody want to adopt 4 cats?

There are new kittens in incoming who are scardey, nameless cats. Also in Isolation in Barry and Blaze's stand alone. (I hope that ensures that they will not return from foster)

And some nasty vet really chopped the end off Sweetpea's ear.
