Aslan adopted and Piglet picked up

 A day for alliterations!

I learned from taking Aslan to the vet on Tuesday after breakfast: he threw it up and crapped on the way. Today, I went early to Safe Haven before his breakfast and after his morning poo. It was an almost odourless trip. . . . and quite short.

He was not happy to be back in an enclosure. And the vollies didn't recognize him. "He is so plump and his fur is fantastic."  Plus he wasn't complaining about anything. Irene did the adoption to his new family in Mosman. I think they will all be happy together. And I will try to keep my kitchen as clean as he has trained me to do it, in his honor.

Aslan ignores what is on TV just so long as he is close to you

This afternoon Piglet was picked up which was nice for the Friday vollies who loved on her in the morning.

Piglet and her new staff!

And Robin visited. She hopes to make it a more regular visitation. She celebrated by naming the kittens in "Incoming" as Sparky (because she loved the all-black horse of her childhood neighborhood) and Moet (to continue the sparkling theme). Will these names stick? Who knows.

Moet and Sparky

She took photos of her old mates Julie and Bassuria (who is much thinner than last she saw him).

And we visited Gideon who is moving more and eating a bit more. . . . sometimes. (Dinesh is definitely eating more, talking more, enjoying his position next to the feeding table to the max!)

One of Peaches' kittens has been whisked off by their fosterer because she noticed that his gums were very red on Wednesday. Today she noticed that Peaches has some bald patches.

Adoption Tails: Toby, Moet and Jerry

Toby

1 day: Toby is settling in really well to his safe space. He has no problems eating or drinking and has already used his litter a couple of times. The owners are thinking of changing his name to Oscar but keep changing their minds since he's got so much personality they just can't settle on one! He's already starting to cuddle and loves to play a lot.

1 week: Toby is an absolute menace but the owners love him. He's a very curious boy with a big heart! He definitely is a mischievous kitty. Morning cuddles are part of their daily routine!

1 month: The owners are so happy with Toby. "He's made our little life a lot happier!"

 Moet and Jerry

1 day: “They have settled in extremely well”. They’re drinking, eating and both using the litter tray. Their owner will be renaming them. “They are so friendly and very inquisitive. The experience of adopting them was extremely easy but also informative”

1 day

1 week:  “They are both going really really well!!” They are very settled and their personality is really coming through. “Can't imagine life without them now!”

6 weeks: “They are going so so well.” Moet has been renamed Jas and Jerry has been renamed Benny. “Jas has to be on my lap at all times and Jerry is always playing and wants pats. They have changed my life already I love them so much!”

“Thankyou everyone for loving them so much”

Dark day

The fire alarm system was being checked and they turned off the electricity in the morning. We asked for it to be turned on if they could have it off a bit later (after the work had been done.) We compromised

Bubbles and Squeek were deliberated over this afternoon by a young couple. The kittens behaved beautifully while being observed. I didn't tell the people that they had been fighting, wrestling and generally behaving like boys all day long. The people will be back tomorrow morning (early) to adopt them and for them to be vaccinated which might slow them down for a nanosecond.

Bubbles and Squeek (or vice versa)

I hope that Tim has rounded up Stardust by then. When I went around to Boarding to feed them their dinner, Stardust's condo door was wide open. Surprisingly, there was no cat in the condo. He hadn't gone far. And, thank goodness, he was at ground level not on top of the condos. Eventually he found a good hiding place on the lowest clean linen shelf. After the folk who came to adopt one of the fostered cats had left Sue and I tried to entice him back into his condo. No go. So we left him securely stuffed onto the shelf with his dinner in a carry cage pressed up against the shelf. All Tim will have to do is to shut the door (we hope).

We tried to entice Amelia out of her condo this afternoon. She wasn't having a bar of the big wide world, thank you. She did tolerate pats and hair brushes. But not stepping out onto the conveniently placed stracthy pole.

Moet and Jerry are on the Available List. I suspect that Moet is the cat who got at the bags of crunchies stacked on the floor beside the food shelves on Better Row. She was very keen to get the door of the play place open today. I moved the secondary latch from inside to outside and it kept her in during the day.

As are Miz and Riley. They are supposed to be bonded but Riley prefers Champ. She makes a bee line to his condo as soon as Charlie steps out. Not for the food because the girls have more in their condo. Charlie is inclined to wander into their place on the off chance of an extra nibble. Miz is not happy to share her space. She'd rather wander around. Cats are interesting.

Finally

How long have we been at East Roseville? How long have I arrived at 7am on Wednesdays to see wet footprints wandering away down the corridor from the Shower? Well! Today I saw the towel clad bloke who owns the footprints. He didn't see me.

And, the unregistered car parked in the loading zone has disappeared. As has the boat in the basement. Changes afoot in Barcoo Street.

And Moet and Jerry have moved from their condo in the corner where Seb and Pebbles used to be. Somehow the patched mesh has failed. They have moved to the play place where they can display their superior foot tripping technique.

Moet and Jerry

Josie is much more friendly than she was when she arrived and gave birth.

And Shawna next door is settling in quickly.
Shawna
I opened Charlie and Champs condo at the same time as opening Miz and Riley's. It didn't take long for Charlie to go for a wander and for Miz and Riley to move in with Champ. Anybody want to adopt 4 cats?

Miz, Riley and Champ with Liam above.
There are new kittens in incoming who are scardey, nameless cats. Also in Isolation in Barry and Blaze's stand alone. (I hope that ensures that they will not return from foster)

And some nasty vet really chopped the end off Sweetpea's ear.

Movement at last

After an adoption drought (despite the rainy weather), there have been adoptions and movements of cats.

Dexter got adopted by a man who "has experience with difficult cats". It has been 4 days which is 3 days longer than the last time he was adopted. So fingers crossed.

And Betty has gone to a foster home. And Hermionie has gone to Katie's to live. And two of Honey's kittens have been adopted naturally including the super friendly Socks. Left are Luna, Scarlett, Patches and Panther. Honey is posted as 10 months old. What a heroine!

Honey plus 4 this evening at dinnertime.
The Squee litter in Isolation has been moved out except for Pumpkin who is still there and being treated as infectious. Two have . . . ? been adopted. . .. disappeared. And two are in Dexter's condo. They are still dedicated to eating.
Spots and Marmalade

We have new cats on Better Row. Moet and Jerry were surrendered. I will try to find out why. They seem to be a lovely pair. Jerry is the ginger male who is friendly. Moet is the ginger and white girl who is wary. Or the other way around!

Jerry and Moet

And Calli is under Josie who is getting friendlier every day.

Calli

As are Theresa's big cats in the stand alone in Incoming. They are very food oriented. They loved it when they were getting 2 month old kitten rations.

Theresa's three

Trude and Prue would like to go back to those good old days. But with patience, Sue is getting them used to being touched.

Trude, Prue and Sue

And for entertainment we have: Meatball, PC and Derek. Meatball is a comedian, PC is an opportunist, Derek is a fanatic (aka a kitten).
