Camera fail

I took some quick photos late this afternoon to remind myself of new names. And the camera is on the blink. I will have to use my iPhone, I suppose. Or rely on Joy's photos which are much better than mine anyway.

Was delighted to find that Magic has disappeared. She has gone back to her foster home. Strangely enough, Willow, who is in the next door condo to where Magic was, was much more outgoing (or outcoming as she has consistently hidden in her cat carrier in her condo until today). She must have got some "keep away" vibes from Magic.

Magic's condo was occupied by four pretty kittens that I drove to a foster home in Avalon on my way home this evening. The fosterer lost her Burmese beloved over the New Year and is pining for more kitty love. These four should do it. The calico is reluctant but the others were friendly.

Stevie has been declared recovered from her desex wound (or from the treatment of iodine and honey). She is back with her brothers. Sabrina, their mother has disappeared from the Adoption list as well as from her condo so she must have been adopted!

And Gemma got adopted.

And Dexter got adopted.

But Tim was a bit dubious about that adoption. With good reason it transpired because Dexter came home to a beautifully spring cleaned condo this afternoon. The bloke who adopted him said that his flat mate really wanted a dog not a cat!

And we got new cats as well as the 4 kittens for foster. There is Mouse, a small, 3 month old, all black boy. He adapted quickly to his new spacious digs in Gemma's stand alone.

Mouse

And Violet who is wearing one of our collars. Which is strange because I can't find them and Elsa has been desexed and doesn't have one on. (She would have had to be under anaesthetic for me to attempt to put one on her!) Likewise Gracie in Isolation has a new desex certificate and no collar.

Violet

And today two of Pickles kittens, Brine and Dill were adopted . . . to two separate families with (not too) young children. They are lovely kittens. But perhaps it is their catchy names that appeal. Geoff came this afternoon and installed a scratchy pole in their enclosure. Which meant that they had to be taken out of it, put into a carrier, entertained with bits of my lunch, until all the screws were tightened, the enclosure was reclad with cloth and put back in its cleaned position such that the litter tray fits. . . . Geoff is a treasure.

AND, there was a telephone enquiry about Yang! . . .. or Ying

Full again

We had a busy day today because there were not as many vollies as usual on a Friday. Even Geoff wasn't there as he was in Melbourne.

So I did the evening feed and the last thing check that everybody had water, etc. It was funny to see the cats all settled down for the night. They weren't expecting to see me again and had given up hope of a second serve of chicken.

Bassuria and Julie, photographed through the perspex, were relaxed.

Bassuria and Julie
Even Henry was in his igloo. He had a lovely time earlier running around with the low barrier only just keeping him constrained. He was helping Robyn make friends with Raven. (Raven wasn't having a bar of friendship but she did enjoy the Greenies)
Henry
Talking of igloos. I keep pushing Mickey's under the shelf and it keeps on sliding forward towards the perspex. Never see Mickey doing it. It must be magic. (Not the cat who is still hiding in her condo on Better Row and is still ? ringworm)
Mickey's Xmas igloo
Even Bissie in Incoming was "out".
Bissie
Lola was sound asleep in her stand alone. On Wednesday morning when I arrived early she was very pleased to see me because she had spent the night in Opie's room. She let me pat her before jumping into her stand alone to eat her last night's dinner's crunchies.

We have Jacqui's two cats, Callie and Sootie. They are to go into the play place. Pickles and her kittens had a lovely time there this morning. Callie and Sootie did not enjoy the enclosure even after I added a hammock.

And Freya had three kittens yesterday. One died overnight so she has two.

We also have Katie's cats filling up Boarding row. You will recognise several of them. So we are quite full, again.

Irene reports on her foster cats

Meggsy

Meggsy
is such a cuddle bug. HIs walking is a bit off (just monitoring to see if it is the 14 months inactivity or something neurological). Once I worked that out I’ll get him chipped and vaccinated and make him available.

Magic is still very shy and hissing but she does eat in front of me and happy to come out.

Magic
Amy loves to be stroked and has found her purr. I’d love to adopt her but we decided 4 cats is enough especially since we have one highly allergic daughter.

Bye bye Peanut

The person who has waited patiently while Peanut recovered from his bout of flu, etc came in this morning to adopt him before anybody else could greedy him. He was very happy to go. I suspect that he won't have to be confined to "his" room for more than two days.

I was very happy to see Midsummer looking much better this morning than on Friday. Then she was DND ("damn near dead" in the parlance of the hospital where my sister worked in the 1960's). Today she eats Baby Cat happily, especially when sloppied up with cat milk, is clear eyed, uses her litter tray, doesn't pant, hops up to greet anybody who opens her door.. . . . a very resilient kitten.

Midsummer
The rest of Wanda's kitten are a pack of play machines when they are not sleeping.
Wanda's lot
Wanda, herself, is getting to be over kittens. She was offered a vollie's arms to cuddle in today and was a happy cat. Sabrina feels the same way and mostly lies on her tummy to keep the kittens away, and hisses to keep people at bay. It doesn't work for the short haired tuxedo. He sticks by her side most of the time.

Sabrina's lot
There is a new ginger boy, Andy in Incoming to replace Peanut. Let's hope that Andy has an equally happy result.

Luigi (Gigi) and Bambi went next door on Friday because they had mistakenly been fed something with fish in it. They are both allergic to fish. There was  a poo explosion that stuck to long Persian fur and it had to come off. They both got Brazil shaves. It is a bit hard to see while I was bathing his eyes (which are much better).

Luigi
Kristine who rescued Magic, Archie and co came to visit. She is very pleased at Tabitha's progress. But was surprised that Rosie and Callie didn't seem pleased to see her. I am pleased that they now venture out of their cat carrier to hiss and spit on anybody who ventures into their space.

Thanks for the photos Joy.
