The blue Cousins bin (of cardboard/paper waste) was emptied today. But the red bin wasn't. Never mind. I promptly refilled the blue bin with the boxes that were delivered with merchandise for us to sell. Included were 5 large boxes with 4 large cat carriers in each. It took some time to put the first one together. But the second one was much quicker. It is a superior cat carrier and comes with a spare screw and a water/food bowl that attaches to the door. And the price was right.
And the blue bin is full again.
Two visitors this afternoon. One was doing the paperwork for Martini who is in a foster home. I assumed that Martini was a boy name (perhaps influenced by memories of Dean Martin). But this Martini is a girl. The new printer had a conniption fit and needed Katie and Tim's attention to get it to print out the relevant forms.
The other visitor spent lots of time looking for two boy cats, preferably with long hair to adopt. All his family have long haired cats. Kenzie and Hanna would have been perfect. . . . if they were boys (and available).
| Hanna enjoyed her grass this afternoon |
And with Aster who is a girl and short haired.
And with Virgo's brood of boys who will be available later this weekend.
Eventually he decided to come back later this weekend when he has consulted his partner (who has 3 cats and a labradoodle) and his daughter who lives with him.
In the meantime, Maxwell had a bath yesterday. The water was brown. But he still looks grubby.
And Davo is wrapping the staff around his shaved paws.

1 day: Whiskey was taken home on Thursday and he has settled well already. He is drinking and eating well as well as toileting regularly at the right place. He is currently staying in just one room and loves to play with his owners and new toys.
1 week: Whiskey is settling well in his room for the past week, playing well with the family and is very familiar with every corner of the room. The owner has not let him out but will start as it looks like Whiskey is very curious and wants to come out.
Whiskey wants to see
1 month: Whiskey is gaining more weight now and settling and playing very well. He has explored more rooms of the house and the owners are still keeping him inside and have not yet allowed him to go outside.
Whiskey loves laps
1 day: Brandy is doing well, staying in the 17 year old daughter's room for the next two weeks, maybe longer depending on how she goes with Matteo (kitten they have previously adopted from SAFE). She is eating and drinking and have used the litterbox for a big wee. Brandy is very sweet and the whole family loves her already.
1.5 weeks: The owners have started to introduce Brandy to their resident puppy and kitten. Brandy met the puppy today again, no hissing or growling like the first few times. She played with Matteo today, chasing ping pong balls. Neither hissed or growled though there was a little bit of pawing.
Brandy
1 month: Matteo and Brandy absolutely adore each other and spend much of their day near each other! The family absolutely adore both Matteo and Brandy. The kittens have very different personalities but get along so well. The family love the cats so much, they have filled their home with so much joy.
Matteo and Brandy
1 day: The owner picked Martini up yesterday and he is already settling in well. He is very comfortable in the bedroom and has his own little enclosure to go into if needed.
1 week: Martini is doing well. He is very comfortable in his room and loves exploring the rest of the house. He is still a bit nervous when there is a loud noise from outside but otherwise very confident. He is super cuddly and affectionate and loves his food!
Martini/Saruman
1 month: Saruman is doing well and he has loads of kitten energy. He and Merlin (the resident cat) are building a sweet and playful bond. Saruman loves to play and cuddle with the owners or Merlin. His safe room is still set up but he barely goes in there so the owners think they will get rid of it soon. Saruman and Merlin are both sweet boys who seem to enjoy each other's company.

Maomao (previously Scotch)
1 day: Scotch adjusted quite well on his first night, having eaten and toileted already. The owner will rename him to Maomao (hat in Mandarin) because of his patch of black fur on his head resembling a little hat. Maomao ran out of his safe room this morning when the owner went into change his food and water and is hiding under the couch of the living room. She has since closed all doors to other rooms and left only his room door open for him to walk back in while she stays inside her study, out of his sight. The room has been set up with hiding boxes and spaces for Maomao. He made his way back inside his room eventually and the owner is now much more careful when she is bringing food and water in.
Scotch/Maomao
4 days: Maomao has started purring when the owner goes into his room with food and even started rubbing himself against her leg today.
