Adoption Tails: Pickles and Bingo

 Pickles and Bingo

1 day: Their safe room is great but they’re running all over the house already. They are very adventurous. They’ve used their litter tray and are eating and drinking well. They are living their best life and their owners are glad they kept them together. They are loving the freedom. They have been renamed - Pickles is now Boba and Bingo is now Mao.

1 week: They went to the vet and are great. They’re ruling the house. They have a new scratcher house/post and are living their best lives.
1 week, Mao (formerly Bingo)

1 month: “Naughty, cute, curious, loveable, cheeky, playful, cuddly, primal, constantly hungry, explorers, universally loved, family. We are content and besotted with the both of them”. They are getting very curious about the outside world.

Short Friday

I kept my visit short this afternoon to limit exposing vollies to my bug. And to distribute the expected chicken.

Monica was desexed last week and her wound looks a bit red and gappy. Dr Kim inspected it this morning, cleaned it up and said that it should be OK if she is allowed to lick it clean. Some cats don't react well to the glue that is used instead of stitches. But she seems happy enough.

The Ginge who was in the play pen is now below Hanna and sneezing mightily. His mum, Sabrina is very pretty and friendly.

Ulysses and his two rag doll house mates are back in the Palace (The coffee shop kittens have been moved to the D's stand alone because they have all be adopted). Ulysses had play time there. After his hour and a half, Violet and co moved in. He was not impressed.

Where Ruby and her three kittens were, are Bingo and Pickles. I have the feeling that they were in a foster home. They are super friendly and won't last long. Sorry, Terry, I didn't get around to putting more cat carriers together for you.

More Gingers

Since last Wednesday, Gracie, Dumpling and Matteo have been adopted from Safe Haven and Suga and Hazelnut from foster. To counterbalance that outflow, we have new cats, currently parked in Boarding but soon to be elsewhere. Like Puma who is a young (6-12 month old) ginger whose fur reminds me of a Burmese's fur. But his face is all ginger DSH:

He is a loving armful and had a fine time in the play place.

Next door is Monika who most folk would call a boy because most gingers are boys.

But poor Zoe (not the old one but a new one) in Incoming went to the vet to be checked and came back a Zack and without any teeth. He is on soft food only at the moment. The old Zoe has gone to foster along with Archie and Beckie. I had a frantic phone call at 8:30am from her fosterer to say, on a very bad line, that she had found a paw in her carrier. I called back and learned that it was a claw not a paw so explained that cats shed their claw sheaths regularly. Peach also went to the vet and came back without any teeth. She has retired to her bed box.

Back to the new kids in Boarding. There is Yoko and Linda. Don't know who named them. Or who is who.

And there are two new mums with kittens that Joy didn't get a photo of. Next time.

In the meantime, Cheena and Bubbles are settling down with us.

And Wanda's kids are ready to move to the Cat Room and get adopted. . . . but only if those blinky eyes are not flu. . . . ..

(Can we please change Squiggle's name to Squire. Imagine how undignified the cat will be as an adult being called Squiggle!)
