Warming up

Lani's back. Hurrah. Makes more work, of course, but zestfully.

Lani
And we had lots of vollies including some first timers. They were super efficient so had time to spend with the cats.

Bassuria is getting the Treatment from our prime cat tamer. He will soon be climbing onto the vollie's shoulder.

Coco and Chanel were picked up. (One had been previously been adopted but the two small kids talked their parents into getting them both, probably. Their names have been changed, unfortunately). So the stand alone was cleaned and the D kittens were moved into it. They are still in the transit lounge so are not to be handled. They are distinguished by their moustaches. One points up. Another goes straight across. And the last has a white smudge on his forehead. I read their microchip numbers to Lani so that she could work out who is whom.

D's with mo's.

Apricot took time out from her kittens this afternoon. It was rather warm.

Her babies snoozed.

There is a lovely new female in the T Lounge named Priya.

And Holly is back from the vet, at last.

Smaller Better Row

Today we moved Julie and Bassuria to the Welfare section. That was because Sidney was moved to Holly's stand alone next to Sydney. Because Holly was adopted over the weekend as were Sidney's two condo mates (Audrey and Sylvie, together).

Sydney and Sidney

Bassuria was no problem to move. He walked into the carrier as soon as we put some of Sue's chicken in there. It took some time for Gulia (vollie) to entice Julie (cat) into the carrier which she usually scurries into as soon as you look at her. But the deed was done and they are now below Joni.

Hana
So that only leaves Ella, Hugo, Mia and Hana on Better Row. I might have to change the name to Short Row.

Hugo who won't last long

The woman who adopted one of Maggies kittens brought him/her back because she couldn't deal with the mess a kitten makes. So Maggie's lot is back in the play place overnight or they go nuts in the stand alone. After breakfast this morning they got a big spurt of energy and raced around the play place like demons. The R girls in the Palace were parallel playing with them, bouncing from one side of their condo to the other. The R girls gave up first.

Another cat, Puma was returned over the weekend because the family situation has changed. The vollie who was there when he was returned immediately adopted him. She loved him when we had him over a year ago. But her mum wasn't keen on having a cat. On Saturday morning, she had finally given in and said she could have a cat. And up turned Puma, the love of our vollie's life. She came in this afternoon to smooch with him. He was perfectly happy to get all the love.

Lucky Leon

She is a very nice lady. She was going to check with the husband and do the paperwork tomorrow but decided not to risk it and did the paperwork today and will pick him up tomorrow. They will be very happy together.

And Klaus was picked up, early, by his family. He will be happy to be home again even though he had a good long play in the play place today.

Klaus
Lola has given up Opie's room. She stationed herself in different places in the main room before settling down on the drying table out back. I had to entice her back to her condo with a soft food tube.

Don't know why Hugo has stitches in his tummy. Shouldn't he be wearing an Elizabethan collar? He is above Thelma and Louise who should be available soon.

Also soon to be on the for adoption list should be Holly and Arlo & Annie. I spent some time trying to get decent photos of them without the bars. I am sure that Joy's photos are better.

Arlo

No surprise that Roger was adopted by a vollie before hitting the adoption list. I gather he has gone home to live with his sister who looks just as cute.

And Jagger was left in charge of the Top Cat. I wonder if he will still be in it by morning.

Flip a box

Holly got out of her box at breakfast time for a pat. So later in the day, I tried to find her a larger box that she could sit up in. I couldn't find or make one. So I tipped her box on it's edge. She can sit as well as lie in it this way and it is wedged under the shelf so won't fall over.

Of course, she didn't like it. She migrated upwards to her top shelf where she made eyes at me, accepted pats and long body strokes and eventually purred. She climbed into the hammock for more cuddles. Vicky gave her more. She is a reformed cat.

Holly
Her erstwhile partner, Tiger, didn't eat, poo or wee overnight. He might have the flu.

Annie on top of Arlo
Annie is back from the vet and Arlo has been ejected from the hammock while she recovers from being desexed as an adult. (Go Annie!)

A woman arrived after lunch to adopt Junior and Lucy. She has been stalking our Adoption Page so that she could get a red headed kitten for her two red headed girls. She bought lots of stuff and they will be happy, much loved kittens.

Speaking of which: Libby was adopted over the weekend. Her new owner emailed to say that she has chosen her favourite placeto sit: a small table by a window and she certainly looked comfortable on an embroidered, white tablecloth. Both are very happy.

Klaus is in boarding. He was our May cat on FB. He has the most unusual long, brown hair on his chest. I found a brush for him which he loves.

Talking of love: Leon loves a new, arty blanket.

Flat out

My first job this afternoon was to rescue a kitten that had gone under the food shelves. The only way to see the kitten was to lie on my tummy on the floor. Good thing that it had just been mopped.

It was Junior and she was pressed against the wall a full arms length away. I pushed her up the the corner where the food prep bench is and, with the help of Greenies, encouraged her to allow herself to be pushed out from under.

Junior
Later I spotted her back in with Lucy who was licking her face. Don't know whether it was with sympathy for her horrid ordeal or removing the last traces of Greenies.

The two cats in boarding who had TBC for the departure date, Holly and ? (I have forgotten his name) have been accepted into our shelter. So they needed to be moved into Incoming. The boy hasn't been seen out of his cat carrier since they arrived so I thought that would be easy. Sods law ordained that this afternoon was the day that he decided to explore his upper shelf. Holly was on her upper shelf too. And did not want to be enticed into her carrier, Greenies or no Greenies. The boy sensibly moved to his carrier after several folk opened his doors so was very easy to transport. We needed Tim to get Holly into her carrier but that was done expeditiously. And both are now in the far corner of Incoming.

Robyn arrived to get to know the cats that she is to write profiles of for the website. We shorted out, the C kittens, again, with the help of the microchip reader, again.

Amber is the white pawed and chested tabby with the really black stripes.

The tabby without any white is Copper. She has a copperish hue.

Copper: no white paws or white chest

They are all eminently cuddleable. And seem to have recovered from their stitches.
