Midsummer madness
As you can imagine I carefully checked that Mayka was in her stand alone when I arrived this morning. She was. And the rubbish men had not come yet so I hurried around collecting the black bags on the verandah to take down to other people's not quite full garbage bins. Then I noticed that Remi's condo door was wide open. I walked carefully down naughty row and her condo was in a state of disorder (not uncommon with Remi) but her igloo had lost a leg and was on its side. I was VERY releaved when I was greeted by the usual Remi hiss-spit. She was on her upper ledge, at the back, as usual (unless there is food on offer). What a relief.
After that the day went smoothly despite a new vollie having to drop out late last night because her husband has Covid. Catsie came instead so I had a full team who worked like a dream. Thank you.
They were all high on the fact that Pete and Buddy got adopted on Monday. I scrubbed out their condo trying to put all the energy in it to keep them from coming back to it.
Wanda has a new kitten called Midsummer. It is grey and much smaller than the rest of her collection. She seems to have accepted it very well and her neck is looking much better with the anitibiotic cream.
We have new cats including a pregnant mum, Violet who didn't give birth today. Her expression indicates that she has never done anything that could lead to that!| Violet |
And Duke, out back in Boarding who needs twice daily eye drops. It looks like his right eyelid is missing. He is very patient with strangers who insist on dropping cold liquid into his eye.

It was the usual busy Friday trying to get everything ready for lots of kitten adoptions over the weekend. There was a delivery of large litter trays for sale. Each litter tray comes wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in its own box. It took 3 vollies ages to unpack them all and stow them away. Thanks to you all. I brought the flattened boxes home for recycling but left the metres and metres of bubblewrap in the store room. Please take some home.
Another mum plus kittens arrived.
On Thursday, the naughty row was brought back from next door. The nurse there said today how nicely cleaned their condos were. We can come and stay whenever we like according to her! Remi seemed happy to be home. Lucky is out of the corner so should be more engaged. Taylor is in the top row which she seems to like. Casper is in the main cat room and is sulking mightily.

Time to relax
The (middle aged) woman who rescued Charlie came to visit him this afternoon. So he got enough pats and chats to satisfy even him.

She enjoyed meeting everybody else and would have happily taken home a few if she had space for more cats at home.
Look who is getting more friendly (within the scent of chicken). . .

The flu'y cats all seem much better. Even Casper has stopped sneezing. She loves chicken. Perhaps that blanket should be changed.

Cat training
You may have noticed a number written on each cat's name card.
1 and 2 category cats are very stressed and they may hide or show aggression.
3 and 4 category cats seem friendly and may bump into you while you clean their condos.
The number 1 cats on Naughty Row look much less stressed when they smell my chicken coming.

Victor will rub my hand through the mesh just at the thought of chicken. I can never get his door open because he reaches the spoon through the gap. As does Amy. I fed her chicken through the holes in her perspex! Her kittens didn't have a chance of any.
Kittbells loves chicken too but Rula was so chilled she wasn't bothered one way or the other.

Goldie's ear looks so sore. He has been treated for mites and fleas and it got better for a while but looks much worse now. Didn't stop him wanting seconds, and thirds of chicken.
