New hammocks

Last week Katrina brought in her mum's old quilt for me to make into hammocks. I did that over the weekend because Katrina intended to come back in today to pick up the painting of cats she bought from us last year some time. And she was going to bring her mum. So I put up some of the hammocks downstairs in the hope that the cats would smile at the visitors.

Only Katrina came. And she was delighted. Roxie posed so beguilingly on her new hammock thata Katrina may just adopt her.

She also fancied Cindy. Who liked her back and performed very well despite not having any hammocks in her condo. Katrina will return.

Salt and Pepper got one of the new hammocks as well. (They have been using theirs since we moved to Mona Vale and they were dirty.)

Truffles and Oreo love their hammocks.

Bree, not so much.

I found time to brush Teddy. For a very black cat, it is surprising how grey the brushings are from him.

Teddy has been moved downstairs into Bassuria's enclosure. Bass has been fostered-to-adopt. Hurrah!

Piglet's new skill

 is standing on shoulders.

Piglet

Tim's new skill is numbering enclosures.

The numbers start at Lola and Pixie on the wall away from the office closest to the line of AWL condos.

And end at 36 where Salt and Pepper are finally coming out from behind the sheets.

Across the way is Rascal in 37 to Clover in 39. Roxie is in 40 across the gap with Julie and Bassuria beside her in 41. The old AWL condos start with Marcy and Indie in 21 with Cheeto below in 22 and end with Peanut (aka Princess) at the other end of the line in 29.

Upstairs Dinesh is in D3. I assume (didn't look) that Raphaella (on the other side of the door) is in D1, etc. Raven is in D7.

Across the aisle, S1 has a boarder, Olive who moved in today. She didn't take long to settle into a hammock. (Which shows bravery because most cats wouldn't have ever seen a hammock before).

Olive
Gideon is at the end of that row of enclosures in S5. This afternoon he was curled up so tight you couldn't see his ears.

How's it going

I photographed every cat at Mona Vale today. You can tell by their faces how they are coping.

Caught!

The runaway cat was back in Incoming. The expert cat trapper got him (I guess). He has a banged up nose from the trap but is otherwise well. When I took the chicken around this afternoon he came out of his bed box in Incoming to get his share. (He'd been in hiding before that.) And "they" have labelled him/her Salt. Which means that the gradually getting friendly/confident one on Better Row is Pepper.

I was called in early because Ainsley who was doing Friday morning because Sharon is away, needed to get away early. No problem, I thought. It is Good Friday and the traffic should be minimal. But then I got stuck behind a line of bicyclists on the Bends! I did get to Safe in time to hand out morning tea to the littles.

And to take a call from a woman who wanted to make sure that we were open so that she could come in to get an adult cat to replace her dearly beloved cat who died of unwell not-so-old age. She warned me that she was bringing her husband, sister and another for support! We did lots of cuddling with the older cats and she eventually chose. . . . the last H kitten!

I think it is a perfect match. David did the adoption paperwork.

You can tell that my camera has died. I will add some of Joy's photos from Wednesday. . . . after one of Aslan, looking superior. I am to look after PC next week for a few days while his foster carer travels. I hope they remember that they like each other.

Aslan
Rory no longer needs to have nasty ointment put into both of his eyes. Poor fellow would so love to live a quiet life.

Rory
Roxie has been demoted from her enclosure to a single condo on Better Row. She is no happier (or unhappier) there. But she is directly behind the condo in Boarding where her daughter Rosie is boarding with a very fancy collar on! (I did take a photo but the camera carked).

Another Mateo

Another Mateo was delivered to Incoming this afternoon. He doesn't look dissimilar to our first Mateo. But has two good eyes.

Mateo 1
and stripes.
Mateo 2
I suspect that one of the three (used to be wild) kittens in Incoming is not the same family as the other two. He keeps getting pushed back. And today he looked as though he got half way through a poo and was kicked off the litter box. So I isolated the other two in the bed box and let him have time alone with the litter box. Success! One happy(er) Bartley.

Bartley

We had a couple of brief visitors who promised to return but otherwise it was a quiet Friday afternoon.

Doris is unsettled in the stand alone. She hadn't eaten her breakfast by the end of the day. She has reserves.

Roxie has the "when will this stop" look of new mums.

Calli has settled down nicely from her move from Isolation to Better Row.

Ginger Megs is back boarding. He looks bored because he is stuck at the dead end of Better Row.

Griffin is back

The woman who adopted him last week brought him back because he wasn't ready to cuddle her (after being with her for 5 days only!) Sue explained that it would take time for him to settle into a new environment but that woman wasn't prepared to deserve cuddles!

Griffin
He is on Better Row. And so is Lewis (the mate of Will who is back in Incoming to have his inappropriate poo positioning dealt with).

Roxie had her babies. She had 4. By the size of her tummy, I thought she would have been lucky to only have had 8 kittens. But we are the lucky ones. . . .

The five from the Incoming stand alone were on crunchies only this morning (we ran out of wet Mother and Babycat food. It arrived at midday) so were not frantic for food and deigned to be positioned:

Japanes named five

On Wednesday we tried to sort out who was who in the play place. Not completely successfully. But I think Sue has got it sorted out now. Two are available.

I made some quick and clean hammocks for Isolation. They won't take repeated washing so can be thrown away when their cats are graduated out of Isolation. I installed two in the stand alone in Iso this evening. And one clever kitten immediately undid the bow!
