A quiet afternoon

The only visitors were a young lass who has been before to spend time with the cats. She brought a friend this time. They had a fine time and will return. Teddy has got very used to being handled because of needing eye ointment three times a day. His condo mate Gigi has decided that "cuddles" are good for her too. The two visitors had a lap cat each.

I don't know whether I miscounted or kittens have disappeared.

Quin may have to have a name change to Quart.

Qu. . . with 4 kittens
Likewise Tilly only had 4 kittens today and a big spit at me.

Whitney in Isolation still has 3. One was having a piggy back.

And Zali (also named Pansy) the pregnant mum in Incoming has rubbed off skin on her sides. Tim thought it might have been a reaction to fleas. I thought it was because her tummy is so round that she scrapes it on the sides of the porthole that leads to her bedroom. As the anti-flea medication didn't help the tummy wounds, Tim agreed that she be moved into condo 6 in Isolation. The portholes are much larger there!

Tim "fixed" the door to condo 6 for her.

More Mums

I thought from the dirty state of her condo that Tilly had her kittens last night. But it seems they were born on Saturday night. We did try to clean up the mess but she didn't like it. So we covered it with a bath mat. She has five kittens.

Just like the mum last Tuesday night whom we named Quin.

We named the Mum with 3 kittens in Isolation Whitney.

Whitney plus 3
And the pregnant mum in Incoming Zali. Her tummy is as round and hard as a ball. She is very friendly.

Zali
I doubt that these names will stick but there are just too many "pregnant mum" labels around.

Raj has settled down on Better Row and is super friendly.

LeClerk had to move out of the Palace which now houses three of Katie's cats. He is not real pleased with the move.

Sparkle is next door to Big Kahuna. Heidi is in the play place. She was returned because the husband thinks she looks too much like the previous beloved cat who got run over. Her son Axel has been adopted.

Plus, the Willoughby bins were collected at before 7am so I didn't have a chance to add more bags to the bins. They are back to the pre Covid schedule.

Cat fight

Well, after the weekend we know which one is Harley and which is Quin. Quin has been adopted so it is Harley who is still with us. I can't tell if she is the friendlier tortie or has become friendlier since her sister left her.

Harley
My camera was playing up today so it is still difficult to tell who is who.

One of our earlier vollies, Monica brought in her cat. Molly whom she adopted from us, to board while she goes to Canada for a holiday. Somebody had left instructions about the eardrops to be applied to a boarding cat called Epsilon. Turns out they changed her name. She might be the same Molly who might have been adopted on the blog of September 1, 2023. Her name has been changed to Epsilon. (Google definition: Epsilon: the fifth letter of the Greek alphabet (E, ε). the consonant sound represented by this letter. Mathematics: an arbitrarily small quantity, used to indicate that a given quantity is small, or close to zero.

She will be with us for three weeks. She is not close to zero.

Epsilon
Later, after letting Seb and Pebbles out into the Top Cat (which they love), I noticed that Dexter's window was covered in snot. So, as he had been happy out wandering with other cats before, I let him out and cleaned his perspex. Then the screaming started. He went for Cooper. I went for him. Used my foot to separate them. Shepherded Dexter back into his condo with the rubbish tin lid and retired for bandaging.
Cooper afterwards just wanted cuddles

Dexter afterwards (when my camera went on the blink)
Ignore the blood smears on the floor. They are either mine or Adrians who got smacked by Billy earlier in the morning or Azar's who got chomped on by Betty yesterday.

Two is better than one

On Wednesday, Irene advised me not to adopt a fostered kitten Mark to a man if he showed up because the fosterer didn't think he would be a good parent for Mark. Luckily he didn't show up. But today a nice woman and her daughter (who works with a vet) turned up to adopt Mark. On the assumption that they were quite different people I went ahead because they looked as though they would be grand owners. Later Irene turned up and agreed with my judgment.

So Mark is off the "for adoption" list. But Florence was still there. Strange. The enclosure was empty on Wednesday. This afternoon a woman who had visited on Sunday and liked Florence returned to adopt her. "Sorry" says I "she's gone." So we looked at other black and white cats and kittens. Earlier I had let out Cooper for a wander. He ended up on the poof under the computer. I had just put him back (to have some chicken) before she arrived. So I got him out and he settled happily on her knee. Trouble is that her son wants a kitten. Sooty might suit he has got so big. Either way, she spent lots of time with a cat on her lap to test whether or not she is allergic to cats (still). And Tim removed Florence from the for adoption list.

Sooty
Sooty's new neighbours are Derek and Hansel. They intertwine.

Tonight Harley and Quin will have a night out in the Top Cat. Jake and Josh will be so jealous.

While Lily and Patch look on.

I think we should have a two for one special in June and July.
