Adoption Tails: Sabrina and Lulu

1 day: So far so good although slow progress. Lulu is very curious and playful which is great. Sabrina (Sabby) is not moving much and hiding under the bed which is to be expected. The owner believes that it will all work out, just need patience and time.

1 week:  It was a slow start and a lot of the effort from the owner is all starting to pay off, Lulu and Sabrina have fully explored their safe room, the master bedroom. The wife was in NZ all week till Friday night and so the husband vacated the room and slept on the couch all week. It all worked out well as Sabby and Lulu had that room all to themselves. Lulu has been venturing out for many days now, Sabrina a couple times but she has mainly stayed under the bed or exploring the bedroom and running back under if the owner comes in or a noise spooks her. This morning, both cats were jumping on the couple at 3am as they rolled in their sleep. Instead of getting mad, the husband kept the game going and moved his feet to keep them playing despite his wife trying to get to sleep for "City to Surf" marathon which she had to get up early for...

1 month
1 month: Both cats are doing absolutely fine, Lulu and Sabrina have adjusted to the 2 resident cats and vice versa. Lulu and Lucy (3 year old resident cat) are best friends and play together. They run like crazy through the whole place, gently playfighting with each other. Both Lulu and Sabby are venturing out onto the balcony and overlooking the view and down below now. The owner is supervising their balcony outings at this stage.

All four cats eat in the kitchen together and as of today, the litter tray that has been sitting right outside the master bedroom (their original safe zone) has been moved after seeing Sabrina using the one in the laundry. The owners are very happy to have no more litter tray in the bedroom hallway.

Lulu and Sabby are pretty much settled in and their people have started trying to touch and pat them. It has been a very slow work in progress but definitely working well as Lulu now brushes up against their legs when food is being prepared and Sabby comes up very closely too. The 11 year old son prepares their food half the time and it is going very well. They are also getting along very well with the 4 year old daughter. Lulu and Sabby love their jumpers and clothes, the owners find it very cute.
