In and Out of Quarrantine

Lily and her kittens have been moved out of Quarrantine Qorner. They are behind the Staff Only door. I had to put a sheet behind the kittens because Diamond was growling at them through the screen.
The kittens will be desexed next week. They have names already. Larry:
Laurie:
Loredo is all black. [His photo will not upload. Is it something about black cats this close to Halloween?] And Lizzie is the tuxedo:
There was a mum and 5 bubs who is to go to foster care. Four of the babies are white.
And a big kitten called Snow Pea who is an "urban stray". She looks as though she has a touch of flu.
Steph may pick up her cats this weekend. It has been a pleasure to have them stay with us. The boys to share kisses and they all share their hair.

Missed one

Today I went to pick up litter. I am actually learning the route and where places like Doonside are! So I didn't get to Safe Haven until 2:30pm. Some cleaning angel had sterilized most of the condos that I left to be done on Wednesday. But more were to be done: The nameless mum and bubs in S14 have gone to a foster home. Emma (so named because Emma brougth her) has gone. The condo above the nameless mum's had a please clean sign. Larry and Leonard's wheely condo still had the sign I put on it on Wednesday. Mally's condo needed to be done because he was adopted today. Hurrah. We got an enquiry from our web page from a mum of a 4 (almost 5) year old on Wednesday to ask if Mally would be suitable for a kid. I replied that he (the cat) is big enough and smart enough to keep out of the kid's way. And that they should both visit to see if Mally liked them. They came. They liked him. He liked them. He went home with them to make beautiful music together. While I cleaned Mally's condo, Billy above sat and watched
until he could bear it no longer. . . too much wiggling around, too many nasty smells and scraping sounds. He retreated to his upper berth. And Tabby next door was digging and digging in his small litter tray. He just couldn't find the right position. Eventually he did his business and I gave him a bigger litter tray. He is a big puss.
And still I missed one of the please clean signs. The one on Jacob's condo and he has been gone for a week. So it is not just me who misses them. Petal, Steph's cat, has lovely blue-green eyes. They will be staying with us for some time while Steph sorts out her abode.

Sewing circle

Today I repaired the hole in the mesh that Hera and Diamond made. John next door donated the mesh. I provided the needle and thread and the cats watched. Katie just above to the right purred throughout. She made music for me to stitch by.
Hera and Diamond were fascinated. They have forgotten their part in the hole.
Beyond Katie, Peggy was fascinated.
Even Mally wanted to know what was going on. Or maybe he just interested in the music Katie was singing.
We got it done and now can admire the moire effect of two adjacent grids. Will it survive a cat's claws?
Apricot has gone to Sue's house to be turned into a brave cat. We have a replacement ginger puss called Billy.
We have a new cat called Emma because Emma brought her. We don't know if we will keep her.
There is a new mum with bubs under where Abbey used to be in Boarding. I didn't realise that she had bubs in her carrier. I got her confused with the other mum with bubs at the other end of Boarding, who has been named Dolly.
And there is a new cat called Maisy under Leopold.
Not to mention the fact that Larry and Leonard went home today. The lovely man who adopted them may just come back to adopt Lucia as well. But I think that is greedying too many greys.

New Blogger

The bloody web site has been threatening to change (?update?!) its protocol for the past month. Today it has done it and I can't work the new system. Luckily they have given me the option to retain the "old fashioned" method for a transition period. Mutter, mutter, grumble, grumble. . . . if it ain't broke WHY fix it! We have The Big Ging in the Palace Suite. He was thrown out of a car in Newport and rescued by a young woman who took him to the Northern Beaches Emergency Vets. They have passed on the pleasure of finding him a new, improved owner. He is much younger than we expected. He didn't like what he was given for breakfast this morning but lapped up the rather smelly fishy food that he was given for morning tea. We have two new surrenders in the boarding aisle. Persia, whose name really should be spelled Pursia, is a very pretty girl. I don't like the feel of crochet cloth so gave her a fleece and she was much happier. Candace and Bonnie's sister was brought in from the industrial estate at Brookvale. We decided that she should have a D name and the only sweet name we could think of was Dolly. She came with 5 tiny kittens and is is the far corner of Boarding. Hera and Diamond have been declared non ringworm and probably never were. So they were moved to the condo under Lola. Initially they were shock/horror at the move but they soon came out to watch the action on the front desk. Tim's back side is always interesting. Lola, upstairs from them, did not seem pleased to have a noisy pair of grown kittens downstairs. Talking of Tim's back view: here he is trying to give Larry, Leonard and Lucia some lunch. Cody update: Tonight there were two fat bandicoots frolicking on the grass out front because I overcooked a bean bag and tipped the scorched grain there a couple of days ago. Brush turkeys have been having a lovely time digging them up and the bandicoots are probably sucking up the worms that they have uncovered. Cody was peeking at them from behind a brick wall. I don't know if it was caution or fear. He came in shortly thereafter and put himself to bed. . . such an exciting evening.

The Young Ones

All Willow's kittens have now been adopted. As well as the last two (Harold and Hayley) of Harriet's. And Bowie  . . . . of course, as he was the littleist. Leonard and Larry (Lucia's kittens) are still in quarantine with the ringworm. They are full of energy. One was chasing his tail so energetically that he fell off the shelf.
Another photo missed was when one of Lily's kittens climbed onto her back for a piggyback.
Bosely is everybody's favourite. . . . he is the boss-cat.
Bosley

Poor Angus had to put up with hammering from next door or above today. It put him off his breakfast.

Angus

Adam and Eve were not getting on in a condo together. So they are in separate, but adjacent, wheely cages. Adam is much more interactive and engaging. Eve is more reserved.

 Morty looks good with pink.

Milky just looks good. He is a honey of a cat.

But Tara still doesn't want to know. . . . anybody.

RIP Chester

As I drove to Oz-Pet in the west I followed a car, for a while that had a cat escaping from it's boot.

When I arrived at Safe Haven, Chester was on his final journey. I will forever think of him as the car boot cat.

We named kittens. The last lot were G's and then there were Jaffa's. Jaffa's two grey kittens were adopted this afternoon by a mother and son who is a JJ. .. .appropriate. They got full instructions about how to tame nervous kittens.
.
The new mum of 5 kittens was named Harriet. She has been moved to the main room. Her kittens are
Henry: white and ginger
Harold: ginger and white
Heidi: calico
Horace: brown tabby and white
Haley: champagne ginger

Lucia's kittens are both boys:
Leonard with the shorter hair and Larry with the longer fluff who seems mostly to be outside the maternal carry cage while Leonard is inside with her.
Larry
Willow's kittens are:
Wendy: the grey tabby
William: the tabby and white
Wal-E: the black and white
Walter: the grey
Wal-E, Wendy, WIlliam

Walter
And Tessa's are
Tommy: black
Toulouse: dark tabby
Tobias: white face
Tinkerbelle: light tabby.

Next is I . . . . . Ian is an awfully prosaic name for a cat.
