Found it!

When I stopped at the post box this morning to see if any mail had come while I was away, there is was. Sitting, black side upwards, on my black car seat. Big sigh of relief all round.

And a few photos.

Milky Way is all alone in the greeting stand alone. Now that his brothers Jupiter and Orion have been adopted he gets lots of attention.

Milky Way
As do the remaining two (the third has been adopted) of Muffin who have settled down in the stand alone in the lobby.
Toast and Hash Brown (don't know who is whom)
Since they have left her condo, and she has come onto heat, she is a reformed character and wants cuddles! (from Tim, I am not brave enough).

Muffin
We still have Bubbles' kittens Rainbow, Fizz and Suds. And Tiger is the last of his litter since Dash was taken home.

Bissie adopted

After over 1100 days in the shelter by a lovely man who used to volunteer at Terry Hills AWL. He adopted an 8 year old cat from us from a foster home before we moved into Barcoo Street. That was 8 years ago. The cat died suddenly and peacefully last week so he came to get another cat from us. Bissie suited him. Luckily Joy took a photo of her last week. (When I went to take a photo of her empty condo this afternoon, my camera would not turn on and my phone was out of battery! Thank goodness for Joy.)

Bissie
Callie will probably go into her condo. To have Chai on one side. (She is a trendy cat. She has a green dish. . . . for matcha ie green tea in Japanese. Chai is Hindi for tea, I think)

Chai
And Amie on the other side.

Amie

And Dory below.

Dory
Opposite were the three kittens who were part of the 6 who were in Better Row for a while. Dash has been moved to Incoming because he as been adopted and one of the three has had spectacular diarrhea. Oreo and Tiger may have it as well. Or instead of Dash. The only way to tell is to separate them. The cleaning crew did a splendid job on their condo.

There is a new mum and her five kittens in Isolation. I don't think they are sick. Mum has the upstairs condo so can get away from the little ones. They don't like the arrangement very much. But she does. No names yet.

This afternoon an enthusiastic vollie checked all the food in the kitchen fridge. It was all out of date. Mostly by several years. So it was all thrown away. Sorry if somebody was saving something for a rainy day. It was past its use by date. I defrosted the fridge. It is now clean and empty. (But I don't imagine it will stay that way for long.)

Moo gone

She got adopted yesterday. Sebastian has already moved into her small stand alone.

Sebastian
He has been desexed and is ready to go. Savannah was sprawled out in their condo this afternoon while Sybie was in the bed box by herself.

And Tiger has been moved from Incoming to be with his siblings, Dash and Oreo because he has recovered from whatever upset his kidneys. You can tell which of the tabbies is Tiger. He is the one who jumps onto your head when you open the door.

Oreo, Tiger, Dash. . .. perhaps
I have noticed that Goosey is very affectionate at dinner time. If you approach her at other times, she does NOT want to know you. But at dinner time she would rather have cuddles than food.

And since Ravyn has had a harness on, she is much more relaxed. Perhaps it is the prospect of wanders that has taken off the edge. Or just the realization that she is in an enviable position. . . . all that space for just her. Or the vollies who give her treats whenever they approach her.

Ravyn

On the other end of the scale is Dinesh who looks miserable and has battle scars to justify that feeling. Must find out his history.

Joy's new phone

She says she bought it so that she could take even better photos of our cats. For example:

Fawney and family

Cookie
She is a newcomer in Incoming. When I fed her afternoon tea she was lying on her back with her legs in the air. Kim took Sebastian home with her this afternoon so as to give Sybie some room to recover without "big brother" hogging all the food.
Oreo
Look at those whiskers! The third kitten has ?been adopted.

Dash

Bubbles and Squeek are less nervous.

Bubbles

Squeek

And next door, Freckles and Posie are almost friendly.

Freckles and Posie
We got a new cat from a colony today from a devoted colony cat carer (Her colony has about 20 cats). He is Angel and he is a sweetie. I had to turf Ravyn out of her stand alone, give it a quick steralization, and reinstall it beside the door. It was nice not having a stand alone there.

The photos are splendid. Thank you Joy.

Splendid is the grass

Joan took home lots of the pots of grass that we were given last year. She gave up on trying to revive them and planted seed in other pots. It has grown and grown to very tall, tender, delicious grass. She delivered a box full this week and I took them onto Safe Haven and delivered them before breakfast. I had intended to take a before and after photo but, as usual, got busy. This is how good a pot looked after it had been chewed to at least a half of its original height.
The reason that I took it out of the condo of the cat who ate it is that he, Julio has gone home. He only came yesterday. He was surrendered because the mother of the family of young children has terminal cancer and it was decided that the cat had to find another home. But this morning the kids and an adult were back to take the cat back home before 10am. They couldn't cope without the fabulous Julio. (A vollie who arrived earlier than me had already fallen in love with him). Don't know what the de-surrender price was but, undoubtedly worth every penny. Also on the doorstep before 10am was the woman who NEEDED to adopt Gracie's tabby girl, Gabrielle. The deed was done. She was happy. Gabriella will grow big and fat and the rest of Gracie's kittens will get a better share of any food that is on offer. While this was happening the crew was cleaning the full house. The house now has an annex. Yesterday's crew must have worked themselves to exhaustion because quarantine is now in the new room which makes SPACE in the cattery.
And isolation for the flu cats. Which meant that everybody else was moved. Freya is in the main room. (That must have been a tense transfer). And Suki is in ex-quarantine. She is waiting to be just right to be taken home to foster care. Next door was a VERY pregnant cat who had a battered nose. She has been just trapped and delivered. A brave vollie came to take her home for the birth and tiny kitten period. Another vollie came to take home Bella's kittens. All five went to the vet on Monday but only 3 came back yesterday. We hope that they will do better now they have been set up by the vet to thrive. In the meantime, boarders kept arriving. Like Finn who is a bossy cat, according to his owners.
During the afternoon Tim interviewed a volunteer bookkeeper. Imagine! She is to job share with another vollie! She grew up on a dairy farm in NZ so knows cats. Peggy liked her. I sat her in with the G kittens.
The friend of Sue who has been fostering Apricot came to sign the adoption papers. She is very happy with Apricot who is very happy with her other cat. Apricot is still vary of strangers but hides in a place where her ears show, so that everybody knows where she is. And a woman from Hornsby rang at 2.45 to ask if she could come to adopt George but the shops are shut on Good Friday and do we have the stuff a kitten would need? Of course we do. She brought her two young kids and took their time (even grandpop turned up) to decide that Dash was a better choice for her kids. I may just have influenced that decision. Bridie came out.
because dinner was late.

After the deluge

The lift breaks down. Perhaps there was water in the basement. Whatever happened, it wasn't working when I arrived, later than usual because my alarm cat was busy watching the wildlife by moonlight rather than waking me up for a early breakfast. (It is high time daylight saving stopped gobbling up my morning). By the time I had wrangled the trolly and six bags of poo down the stairs, the commercial garbo had been. . . . there was space in those bins. So I started to fill up the homeowners bins. I even came across an owner. I asked her if she minded me putting bags in her bins to make the garbos trip worth while. She smiled and said "Not at all." Aren't Aussies nice! I did a couple of trips and on the third, the regular garbo was coming up the street where I had planned to drop my bombs. There was a traffic controller in the street because an electric line needed to be fixed. He saw my plight and said "They haven't been up this side". So I ran my trolly up the hill to the first garbage bid I came to. I tossed them all inside just before the garbage truck caught up to me. It was highly entertaining to the traffic controllers, and a local who was trundling in his empty bin (on the other side of the road). I didn't manage to get all the garbage bags off the balcony. Please take one or two home if you have space in your bin. My vollies managed to find their way in. The lifts were fixed by lunch time. Belle's kittens are poorly. They leak from their bums. Some are better than others.
Joy must have taken this photo immediately after I cleaned their condo. It doesn't take them long to make it dirty. And the five kittens (3 blacks and 2 tabbies) have the flu. Their poor eyes are swollen and inflammed. But they are eating well despite nasty medicine and eye ointment. A couple came to find a friend for the kitten they adopted from a vet a few months ago. They wanted a ginger. I showed them Marmalade, Dash and Niblet. They liked Niblet best because he was calm (sleepy) and their cat is full of energy. When Niblet went, Nori went back to sleep.
During the afternoon, I looked around to see who was playing with a ping pong ball . . . . and it was Sooty! Later she sat still for a photo.
And Windsor has abandonned his hiddy structure and rests on his upstairs shelf.
By the time I got my camera out of my pocket, Billy had uncrossed his front paws and lifted his chin from them. A cute photo missed.
And, of course, as soon as I pointed the camera at Mia and Bella who were cuddled up together in their square hammock, they moved.
They have available lables without any indication that they must go together. But on the website, they are listed as a bonded pair. As are Faith and Bud who are lording it in the play place. They choose beds as far from each other as they can get.

Engaging Ebony

There was a hole in the mesh of Wasabi's condo before she moved in. (Star's kittens did it). Her kittens have just learned to poke their heads through the hole. Within days their bodies will follow. So I patched the hole. Unfortunately there wasn't any of the thicker mesh left so it is a temporary fix. But whatever it was, Ebony was fascinated.
She gazed and gazed. While Wasabi tried to hide in her bed because my hands kept coming into her condo.
And her kittens went to sleep in a carry case that kept them from escaping all over the place.
Tim has listed lots of cats and kittens availble so that Terry can get them all adopted tomorrow. The list includes Coco, Cola and Pepsi who had a lovely time this afternoon in the play place while Silky's kittens were off getting desexed. Charles and Christopher are available. The "I am adopted" sign on Elona's condo that had Charles written on it was a mistake. Elona is to be picked up tomorrow. And perhaps the interested person of Wednesday will come by for Charles. Zelda is back on the available list and is desperate for cuddles. Steph's kittens Dash, Flash, Bear and Chip are bound to go quickly because they are such love bugs. Dobby, at last, is available with his loving snot.
As is Windsor with his old man's morning cough and hack.
Talking of which, why is Sunny's nose brown? He is available.
And Salam. We tried to get a good photo but he kept wigglying with the joy of being out and with people to love on.
